(1) Why? Do you have something to prove this with? I've seen some very good, competitive players playing Street Fighter IV on Xbox 360 using a gamepad. Sub that in for PS3 also. However, if those players were "serious gamers" in your mind, they would have invested in the best way to play the game control wise, which means buying a 10 thousand dollar arcade machine right?
(2) A professional gamer plays for cash prizes. That is what the term "professional" means when in connection with competitive sports. "Serious" is never used in connection to this. Look it up.
