But they do when some other nationalities are shortened when really they should be equally as unoffensive and only remain offensive because of an outraged few.

I dunno. If no one takes offense to when someone says brit, i guess it's acceptable, but if someone called me argie, I'd take that as a big offense, I consider that an insult
