2. Tales of Vesperia

Ah, Vesperia. So soft, so soothing, the relaxation and melodic tones with its candy-colored graphics only broken by Karol's shrill, girly voice. A game that I've heard to be considered "art" in graphical style(often put alongside Okami and SotC, for whatever reason) what Vesperia lacks in detail, it makes up in sheer simplicity. And the greatest part of the entire thing is just how seemless it is; the brilliant and shining color pallete blends perfectly with the changing landscape and brilliantly shining effect. In motion, its like watching a painting go by, crisp and cell shaded....but its not the most detailed thing out there, of course, which is the reason why the title of Most Beautiful Game on the Xbox 360 goes to...

Huh? I've never once, let alone often times, heard ToV mentioned or considered in the same league as either Okami or SotC. Don't get me wrong, I thought the game looked good, but comparable to either Okami or SotC? I think not.

On another note, those Fable II screens look great. I really should get around to trying it.

On /b/, actually. You should have seen the threads when the game first came out, I don't know if ever there was so much love for a Tales game on that site during that week :P

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I think you will understand if we find these comparisons rather.... unfitting.

Oh I never said they were good comparisons. In fact, I said "for whatever reason" after my quote in the OP. But yeah, I heard it, and thats the answer for the question I was asked.

No Eternal Sonata? FAIL! =P

PoP and ToV look amazing.

PGR4?

Beauty is something personal. No matter how you put it, there's no unanimity. Many people can consider something as beautiful but there will always be at least a few people who will disagree.

I see Tales of Vesperia as very pretty, colourful and soft looking. Things I personally consider to be very pleasant to my eyes. The art style might not seem original but how many games were able to recreate anime style successfully, in game? Not many. Like Shadowblind pointed it out it's like if you were playing an anime... Which I find impressive.

Anyway, this shouldn't be a debate of how original something is but how pretty it is. Original doesn't always equal nice looking nor technically impressive.

Seriously though, is there a reason you need to do this ^^^^^^^ even though you quoted me? seems kind of pointless.

Anyway, I think bioshock deserves the spot. It looks beautiful in it's own way. Not in a bombed-out building sort of way, but you know, the whole utopia in chaos thing.
