Levels didn't even matter in FF8.

I've beaten FFIV no less than three times. All of the pre-Playstation Final Fantasies are harder than 8.

I second what Khuutra is saying. Final Fantasy IV DS is hard. I didn't realize it had restored difficulty when I first played it; I kept on being surprised by how much harder it was then my memories of the original SNES version. You need to be a damn clever strategist AND well-levelled to beat it without dying fairly often.

Also, it just seems...I don't know, wrong somehow, maybe even sacrilegious, to say you've played tons of RPG's and yet never have played Final Fantasy IV. Next thing I know you'll be saying you haven't played FF VI or Chrono Trigger.
