Forums - Gaming - Will Onlive get sued by Microsoft? (Onlive controller vs 360 controller)

I don't see how they could sue them. There are still enough differences in controllers so I doubt there would be any point. And PS3 controller and 360 controller also have almost identical basic layout. The only difference are that left analog stick is in different place. There is practically no other difference in layout of the controllers. They have same amount of buttons and they are in same positions. Sure, MS and Sony have named the buttons differently but those are still same buttons.

There is actually at least as much design difference between 360 and OnLive controllers as there are between 360 and PS3 controllers. Actually Sony could sue MS for using their design and probably Sony could be sued by Nintendo.

Around the Network

This is America ! Where everyone can sue anyone for anything.

this is by no means a design infringement.

but why did they choose sony's labeling for their controller?

the onlive controler looks like crap....

the suing would probably come from the word LIVE spelled on the keys though... with MS having their whole LIVE thing and all, I can see conflict there....

I think that falls under those terms that are too common to be copyrighted. Lots and lots of corporations use the word 'live'.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
