live. vc is okay but i think it would function better on live with updated graphics. i think there is some unofficial version of this kind of goldeneye game already

there is a half-life/team fortress mod which makes the game exactly like Golden Eye but better

It's a Source-engine mod, and it's not "exactly" like Goldeneye. It's called Goldeneye: Source, and it's basically trying to recreate Goldeneye on a modern gaming engine. However, it only does multiplayer, and it only does it decently at best. There's a lot lost in Goldeneye when playing with more than four players... and you pretty much HAVE to have voice-chat or else it loses the personal aspect that made Goldeneye amazing too.

I'm sure it's been suggested. I think all of them.

How it the hell would it 'function better' based on its graphics? The game is/was fantastic because of the great gameplay in both single player mode as well as various death match mutliplayer modes.

Well I'm going to assume Rare owns the rights to the game. So if it were ever to come to a console it would be the 360. I would prefer 360 frankly because a joystick is better and you know they would give it an update like Banjo Kazooie as opposed to just emulation.

Rare hasn't made a good game that was non-Nintendo this entire generation.

They haven't released nearly as many games as they did on the Nintendo consoles. I imagine they will pop out with something decent eventually.
