Sony & Microsoft: Both companies came into this generation concentrating on pushing something other than games. Microsoft wanted to dominate the living room with internet, netflix etc. Sony wanted to push blu-ray and also dominate the living room.
Nintendo: Cammie Dunaway and their new system of announcing games close to release dates.
"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."
"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."
Sony: killed the Dreamcast (together with Sega of course), controller is quite mediocre
Microsoft: was rather disappointed by the original X-Box (can't say I "hated" it though), RROD issues with the current one
Nintendo: besides the lack of good third-party games not much, actually. And I have the impression that this will change soon...
(I'm a PS3 owner)

I totally understand what you mean about having both in the same place. The problem with the left stick for me is that it generally (at least in FPS) controls forwards, backwards and sideways movement. So up, down, left, right.
For that control, i want my thumb to be in an upright postiion on the controls, so that to push up, i push my thumb directly up. Whereas on the Ps controller, its to the side, so to push up, i have to move my thumb to the side to push the stick up. I can never get the direction that i want perfectly without physically looking. So in certain games when you need to get the directions perfectly its annoying. I know if i played longer with the PS controller i would get used to it, but its just less natural than the 360 position.
Does that make sense? Because im finding it hard describing what im trying to say hehe.
I dislike the fact how Sony has give the playstation name a bad name this generation and their lack of support to the ps3.
I dislike how Xbox 360 is attempting to take all of Playstation best titles that were once exclusive and make it popular on their consoles.
I dislike how Nintendo can't seem to have top selling third party titles.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
Sony - not enough support towards the PS3 that resulted in loss of exclusives
MS - taking PS3 exclusives and thinking they're #1 while completely disregarding the Wii (we all know Sony can do fine without MS exclusives but not the other way around)
Nintendo - lack of 3rd party games which results to lots of Mario games.

SONY - Took the average consumer for granted with a high entry level console price ($500 for the original 20GB PS3). Suggestion: What's done is done. Just keep concentrating on the hardcore and fanbase for the time being.
Microsoft - Anti-competitve, pro-monopolistic. Suggestion: CHANGE YOUR BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!
Nintendo - Where's my original arcade Donkey Kong on the Wii Arcade??? Suggestion: I want my original arcade Donkey Kong on the Wii Arcade!!!
Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.
Sony - The games(and console) are really expensive which is annoying, $69.99 sucks!
360 - Charging for online service is a scam compared to the other services which are free and in the case of PC, much better
Wii - Online online online, I want demo's and patches and voice chat and real online play(Wii Speak and Friend Codes don't count) like I've been getting on my PC for a decade
