Still no love for more Crackdown?

There hasn't been any rumors on a sequel so it is in the back of peoples mind. I know I would buy a sequel.

If i'm not mistaken there have been a couple of rumors...

Speaking to Wired's Game Life blog, Kim said: "We still love Crackdown. We consider that a pretty successful title for us, high-quality, I think that customers would like to see more in that space. So that's an option for us.

"And any intellectual property that we own can always be on the table. And the good news is that we happen to own the Crackdown IP."

"I want - we need - another Crackdown," Xbox Live's director of programming, Larry Hryb, said on Major Nelson's podcast. "That's all I'm going to say, so you don't have to confirm or deny anything. I'm just saying we want it."

Microsoft Game Studios head Phil Spencer echoed Hryb's comments, saying that "Crackdown's one of my favorites. I'll leave it at that."

Yeah, I have actually created several threads based on Crackdown 1.5 rumors and such and they always die a horrible death.

I guess I haven't been around here long enough to see those rumors and threads about them. I picked up Crackdown after playing the Demo, and I must have spent over 100 hours playing it, or just messing around. If the sequel has multiplayer that would be crazy. Imagine 16 players going around killing each other, or doing some other tasks, like roof racing.

Rumour: Crackdown 1.5 out “early 2010″, Ruffian IS working on it despite Realtime Worlds statement

January 29th, 2009 @ 14:27

It’s not going away, and it sounds as though you’re about to hear an awful lot more about it. Newly formed Scottish developer Ruffian is most certainly working on a new Crackdown game, says “rumour” today, and apparently it’s scheduled for the end of 2009 or early 2010.

The project’s being called “Crackdown 1.5″ in the UK trade, and it’s set in the same city as the original Realtime Worlds 360 classic. Multiplayer’s going to play a massive part in the game, aparently, moreso than the new single-player stuff.

Just a hunch: you might hear more about this… tomorrow. Life on the edge, and all that.

Realtime Worlds put out a statement at the end of December saying the firm was in ongoing negotiations with Microsoft about continuing the franchise as a reaction to rumour that Ruffian had picked up a second game.

Ruffian - the Dundee-based developer comprised largely of ex-Crackdown staffers - was confirmed as open in late January.

As long as they are only working on an expansion I am ok with it.  More Crackdown = awesomesauce.  Give RTW the sequel M$.

Wait till E3 if you want to make threads like this.

And spoil Garrett's fun of quoting people responding too negatively in this thread at a later date?

I don't have a problem saying that right now the PS3 exclusive lineup edges out the 360 for the moment, if that changes then I'll be happy, if it doesn't then I'll either buy some more PS3 titles or enjoy the many quality multiplatform titles that will be released.  At the end of the day I'm stil playing all the exclusives from last year so if even more are announced I'll struggle to play them all anyway.

Still nothing announced... I guess Microsoft is waiting for E3, but the wait is long for us 360 fans, especially since you can enjoy gems on PS3 like Killzone 2 (or soon God of War 3)...

Every former 360 exclusive seems to go PS3 with enhanced versions these days (Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden 2, Tales of Vesperia...)

The latest 360 excusive is Ninja Blade, but it bombed hard according to reviews.

I know right.  I figured something would have been announced in the last couple days.

Tim_Duncan, fanboy extraordinaire strikes again!  His cunningly simple logic and lack of overall knowledge gives him 10 style points in the ongoing race for VGChartz #1 PS3 fanboy award!

What has really been announced for the PS3 for this fall? I believe MS like last year will put out a good high quality lineup that will compete well.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Well theres a few exclusives, but mostly its the multiplats that look good like Modern Warfare 2 and Bioshock 2 that will keep the 360 competing.

Splinter Cell Conviction and Alan Wake look cool.
