Why doesn't Sony allow bluetooth instruments for PS3?

It's annoying to have 2 USB ports because if you connect the 4 instruments for Rock Band 1 and 2 then two of them will have to be plugged through the guitar reciever. the problem with this is that it causes a slight delay but still very noticeable for a game that requires good timing...

I know that if Sony releases their own bluetooth instruments then EA and Activision are going to be really pissed (Konami doesn't count Rock Revolution sucks). But maybe Sony could allow the release of bluetooth instruments and get good money for that...

I bet it is annoying, how much $ could Sony possibly have saved by eliminating 2 of the usb ports. I guess any money saved counts, but if they ever release an "elite" version of the PS3 , I would like to see a return of those other 2 usb's.

Of course I dont have this problem since I have 4 usb slots

so, I just totally dodged commenting directly on the OP.

doesn't Sony allow the use of bluetooth instruments already? Its just that certain developers dont use this option.

They don't use Bluetooth because it's more expensive.

Still I'd buy the bluetooth instruments, I want precision and not having to plug stuff is a plus...

Nintendo have copyright on bluetooth connections for controllers i believe.
