also i have to grab persona 4 for sure, just my controller broke on ps2, so i gotta snag a new one



Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

There is no one best RPG on the PS2 for me. 

All have flaws in one area or another and there is no one RPG that excels at everything so much as to be "the best."

As for Persona 4, it doesn't deserve nearly the level of praise some people here would give it.

Here and everywhere. I mean, it's one of the highest rated PS2 games. It's not like it's too uncommon for anyone to praise it.

And for me, it's the best PS2 game I've ever played

Persona 4 exceeded my expectations by far, and I am only 58 hours into it. But seriously people: try to play Growlanser 2 and 3! It was localized in America as "Growlanser Generations", confusing because the Japanese Growlanser Generations is a different game. Fantastic, innovative gameplay mechanics, fantastic soundtrack and art style; if you are an RPG fan you are missing out on this overlooked game.
