People are so gullible.

Don't care, since I am a Linux user.

As far as I can tell, Conflicker is a real virus.  The fact that it retrieves new code on April 1st is probably not a coincedance, as the code makers we probably trying to be funny.  Regardless, I believe the threat is real.

Don't care about virus since I have a decent AV, behind a firewall and another firewall from router, have spybot, and have all the updates. Some people are freaking out on yahoo page that has the story. With a bunch of cocky Mac users trying to claim superiority.

Im on a MacBook pro so I dont care either :/ I feel bad for anyone who does get infected tho.

Wouldn't it be smarter to launch Conficker on March 31st, and work when everybody is trying to use the internet as much as they can before D-Day?

Maybe the Mac users claim superiority because their OS is superior

Besides the point.  You say you have 2 firewalls?  That is pointless;  2 firewalls are no better than 1 good firewall.  Also, having 2 firewall may cause problems if you need to change something.  I would disable your software firewall and just let your router firewall take over.  Then go to https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Spybot is nice, but does not offer that good of active protection.  I use super-antispyware.

Many people may not power on their computers April 1st in fear of it, but they will April 2nd and the software will still attempt to "call home" until it manages to get it's update.  At least, that is what I've heard.
