Forums - Microsoft - Would it be in the 360's best interest for MS to pull it out of Japan?

my lord....the sony fanboys hitting this thread real hard...

you can keep talking about the 360 in japan being a failure all you want....but if you think the ps3 is any better, then theres no aruging cause you're most likely a blind fanboy that won't admit the truth...

EDIT: by the way these days more and more fanboys are using the term "x-bot"...and they're saying the 360 owners are the ones butthurt, or feeling hurt, whatever they say....

Agreed.  As I said earlier:

Going from 500k last gen to 1 million and not even done yet in this gen is improvement.  Going from 23 million last gen and only 3 million halfway through this gen is a strong movement in the wrong direction, right?  Even if the PS3 ends with an optimistic 10 million in Japan this generation, how can anyone claim a 50%+ decrease over last gen as good?

mouarf the exclu war lol

i thought everybody in the business agreed already that XB is owning currently the most valuable library in the HD console market... so now it changed???

now since GOW2 nothing .... yeah you are exactly right... but then again you'll have to tell me why release an AAA game in dead season...???? the point of an AAA game is to move systems... putting it on shelves that early is retarded and would just diminish its system selling potential and most likely cut its legs.... only PS does that to try to grab some WW sales in the dead season thing they haven't been able to do much when it actually matter over the past years....

and on that note... I don't need new games right now... with the load we get every holiday season i'm far to have finished half of my games yet.... hell i haven't finish bioshok yet lol....

fan boys or not you have to get real people PS this gen is trailing you don't need a PhD in business management to see that

Of coarse, its people who are just spinning every single negative into a positive when it comes to the ps3....but the 360 improves greatly over the xbox and still they say what they say....

It's just the axe-grinders and agenda-pushers working hard.

There was some intense purging summer-october last year, looks like it's time for a trimming again.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Both consoles should pull out of Japan. Their combined sales do not even match up to the Wii's. All console Japanese support should just go to the Wii and both Sony and Microsoft should pull out. Look at their software sales. Neither console has managed to produce a million selling game over there, or even gotten close, while the Wii has produced 8 already. Has any game on either HD console become profitable based on Japanese sales alone? Most likely not. Both HD consoles should just cut their obvious losses, based on all the factual evidence that is available out there, and just concentrate on the two other regions they are getting their asses handed to them in.

wow that's an easy question you simply don't pull out of a market your competition is in.... just to have a presence you stay.... no need to crunch numbers or big ideas here.... pulling out is simply not an option end of the discussion....

see it wasn't that hard

Exactly! Sony has some serious competition this gen and really have to raise their game(which they're beginning to, finally). Japanese devs want to get to the 360's large western userbase so they'll continue releasing software for the 360 in Japan and the west.

Competition is good!

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

wow some people are definitely not made to do business and hopefully chose another area of study :D

While the Wii is clearly ahead in Japan, why would Sony pull the PS3 when they still have FF and GT to come and are starting to see much better sales now?

360 has done much better than Xbox, and it's amazing it has reached 1M - but in the end MS has only really gone from nowhere in Japan to fairly poor.  Of course Sony has gone backwards from PS2, but nonetheless PS3 is clearly the dominant HD console in the region and is gaining steam while 360 only has momentum when MS purchase titles that otherwise wouldn't be exclusive to the console - even then if I was MS I wouldn't pull out now, as a tiny improvement is better than none, and they have won some decent attention from local devs.

What mystifyes me in the region isn't the consoles, but the local game platform choices and the seemingly hit and miss nature of whether they are released outside Japan or not.

My post wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It was meant to paint the picture that I too could come up with something as poorly thought out as the OP did. If the 360 should pull out because of it's general failure in Japan, then so should the PS3. Both are getting their clocks cleaned by the Wii, and no amount of spin like "dominant HD console" changes that. That is merely a statement used to ignore the Wii's success and paint either the PS3 or 360 as the winner of something, when they are anything but that.

No platform should be pulling out of Japan. That much should be obvious. It depresses me that there are people in this topic that don't know that.

Totally agree on the topic of pulling out of Japan, guess my sarcasm detector wasn't working too well when I read your post!
