I don't get the whole appeal of crysis on a console. Ignoring the graphics, it was a very generic game. Why would you want to play a graphically downgraded version of Crysis?

Agreed, the only thing that makes crysis great is the graphics and animation... other then that gameplay is meh-ish..

Huh?! Gameplay was the best part of Crysis, far better than any FPS put out on consoles. The editor, physics, environment destruction, animations, graphics are also top notch.

I'm not going to make an argument here as I never played Crysis, but does that mean you're ready to call Crysis' gameplay better than that of Half-Life 2 and its episodes?

Remarkable comeback!

Actually yes, Crysis has better gameplay elements than the console version of Half-Life 2. Console HL2 is significantly gimped compared to the PC version.

Now I did play Half-Life 2 on the PC. Feel free to explain in what way the console version is inferior.

Killzone 2 looks better so who cares?

Games like the sims pretty much play on any PC, negating the need to buy a console in the first place.

It's not a bad idea to put such a big franchise on as many platforms as possible, but RTS type games still strike me as a very PC niche. Although it really wasn't that long ago that the same could be said for FPS games as well.

Controller interface seems to be the most contested argument.

Why would we want Crysis anyway ? I'd much rather have a new game.

People act as if Crysis was some sort of status symbol.

Only because it's still being used as a standard to benchmark PC builds as one of the most hardware intensive game engines.

Facts are, the game came out in Nov 2007. Even if they did get around to a port using CE3, the game would be well over two years old.

While I still wouldn't rule out a game from the Crysis franchise (two more to go in the planned trilogy, not including standalone expansions), the main significance of CE3 is as a complete development package for developers on all current platforms.

That being said, I'm hoping to see some original IPs using this as an alternative to the UE package.

Frankly, those who don't have decent gaming PCs, aren't missing out on the be all, end all of shooters some are making Crysis out to be.

crisis game play sucks anyway, the graphics are good and physics that's it
