Forums - Microsoft - Alan Wake Demo footage from March 2009

This is from an Intel developer conference. It is running on a Quad core CPU 3.73 Ghz PC. The level of graphics here is stunning. It is such a shame that it's not a direct video. However the lighting is visibly leagues ahead of anything else. Unfortunately this is youtube so the quality sucks arse. I think this footage is from 2008 as far as I can gather. Considering the extra 12 + months development this game should walk away with best graphics of 2009. Absolutley stunning. I'm sure this has not been posted before. Cant wait till E3 2009.

EDIT: The title should say 2008. Sorry bout that. :)

Wow, we got to see a bunch of stuff about Alan Wake's engine. The excellent real time lighting, weather effects, and physics. And also actual character movement. Looks great.

Sorry, but that footage is at least 1 or 2 years old, i've seen it ages ago. That doesn't mean it looks stunning, although it's probably the PC-version we're looking at.

^ Did you even read the OP?

Nooo i was so excited!

hehehe that is possibly the worst mistake in a title you could possibly make :P

Still, even back then it looked amazing.  I cant wait to see what it looks like now.

LOL. Well, I had never seen it before. Should look even better by now then.

@Selnor: You're right, I watched the video(without sound) and didn't read the OP. My bad. But anyway, the game does look stunning...too bad they don't show much of it.

If youtube quality "sucks arse", how can you make bold claims like "visibly leagues ahead"?

Tbh, it will have to do something incredible to beat Killzone 2 for lighting when KZ2 can construct a scene with 230 light sources (cf. http://www.gamezine.co.uk/news/game-types/shooter/the-most-light-sources-in-one-killzone-2-scene---$1267347.htm).

To run Alan Wake (if you actually watched the video) you need quad core pc. Again the volumetric lighting shown in the video beats anything I've seen on console so far, also the incredible water. You can still see these points in the video. E3 will be massive with this game.
