Forums - General - Looking to buy a sports car - which one of these would you choose?

I'm looking to buy a 300+ hp sports car that I will use as summer vehicle. My budget is about 20000 bucks. Cars that I am currently looking at are as follows.

1995-1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT (GTO in Japan) (around $12000 for a mint one, less than 100k clicks)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_3000GT

1997-2004 Chevy Corvette (around $20000 for a good one, 100K clicks or more)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevy_Corvette_C5

2005-2007 Mustang GT (around $15000-$20000 for a mint one, 50K clicks)

2003-2006 Infiniti G35 ($15000-$20000 for a good one, less than 100K clicks)

What do you guys think, which one would be the best summer fun, most bang for the buck...chick magnet :) ?

Any other ones you guys have experience with that are in the same price range that I may have overlooked? The important thing to remember is that I am not trying to go for a boy racer car...so all those Nissan 350Z, RX8, Exclipse, SI ...etc are not what I am going for. Mitsu Evo would be nice but out of price range...

lol. Im sorry but while impreza is probably the most technically impressive car here, its also one of the ugliest cars in the world. Below picture is one of the best ones I've seen of the car...and it pales in comparison looks wise to something like...a hyundai Tiburon.

corvette

My daughter is my world.

Corvette and mustang...

I actually test drove a corvette last week. Was sold, amazing diving and handling vehicle but the dude wanted too much and wouldn't let me take it to my mechanic of 10 years but insisted he does the certification on his own. So I decided to test drive the others and wait...

Mustang wins on the basis that it is current and will most likely still have waranty if I get a 2007 model. But its also the most common and least powerful. I do want to test drive one...

the vette it has the ls1 motor that has 350hp and 350tq and can very cheaply be bumped up to 400 hp
the mustang comes with only 300hp
the 3000gt would be good if u can find one with the rare twin turbo motor

wat about the new dodge challenger or the new camaro

u can get the 98- 02 camaro or firebird which has basically the same motor as that vette

Yeah the Vette should be the LS1. ITs probably the fastest and best vehicle I can get out of the bunch. I heard its easy to get it to 400 even without a blower or any major upgrades but I probably wouldn't do that. If i decide that I want to spend my summer spinning and smoking the tires Vette is a must.

Camaro and Firebird are on the list and they can be gotten fairly cheap but I never liked the looks of those cars. Camaro especially. I would consider a Firehawk Trans am 1998+ but it would have to be in amazing condition for me to spend 15K on it.

The new Challenger is godly...but too much. Cant afford anything over 25K and with todays economy, I can't borrow that much money...too risky.

I must say I am attracted the most to the 3000GT. They have never sold in Canada so a lot of people tend to say WTF? when they see it here...

the way it looks + people not kowing what it is gives that car the edge on the road. If you don't know what it is you don't know howmuch HP it has...hence trying to race me off the lights may not be the best idea :)

i would get the mitsubishi or the infinity.

i don't trust american cars.
