LOL I should really pick up this game.  Can you enjoy it to it's fullest without LIVE!?

 Of course you can, but you'll want to install it to remove the popup problem and texture loading issues that earlier URE3 games have.

edit: The only thing on Live you would want is the downloadable content... it's excelent

It has no multiplayer so LIVE has absolutely no effect on your enjoyment of the game.  I cannot possibly recommend it enough. 

If it has branching beginnings and branching endings then there will be tons of ways your game could play out, and it will most likely end up as my most played game of all time, plus I will have to replay the first one a few times.
