So you obviously aren't an fps fan.
You say that Quake 3 was good back in the day, which implies you played it and liked it. Then you say that Quake Live is the first DM game you ever liked. Quake Live = Quake 3 in a browser.
If you don't find UT2004 interesting you obviously are not a fan of online multiplayer FPS games. It is the only online FPS besides Halo 2 or 3 to keep my interest since Tribes.
Let me recap, you played HL2 and didn't like it and you are not interested in UT04. So you do not like the pc's best offering for single player and multiplayer fps action respectively.
Anyone else out there who has comments about the genre.
most people on this site dont play pc games, and a great lot of people of W

Yes, those are very good single player fps games.
most people on this site dont play pc games, and a great lot of people of people are Ninty fans on this site. The aint that many sony fans on here its just that the few sony fans this site has are by far the loudest.
the thing about halo and thqt. most people on here, here about tha latest ga,es coming out, the main stream do not. I bet you a lot of people on here have played more Halo 3 in one month then what the @Main stream@ will do the full cycle of the consoles life.
We just here about new games and move on to the better things. main stream people dont because they aint on gaming sites so they dont know about the good games that are coming out

I love Halo 3.
I don't play WoW because I have an addictive personality.

As far as a special MP FPS I don't think there are any these days. I greatly prefer CoD4's MP but it's nothing new. Duke Nukem 3D, UT, Tribes, etc... were groundbreaking and original but I don't think any FPS MP is anything out of the ordinary nowadays. PS. System Shock II had fantastic coop MP.
There aren't as many xbox fans on this site, it's mostly Nintendo and Sony fans. There are even less PC fans on this site because it is mostly a console gaming site.
Me I've played Halo 1 and Halo 2 but never Halo 3. I also used to play WOW alot the only reason why I stopped was because my computer fried and I just decided not to go back, too addicting. I'll go back to WOW one of these days though just to see what WoTLK is like.

I greatly prefer Halo 3's MP over CoD4. I actually kind of dislike CoD4's multiplayer.
Making players earn there weapons and perks is not exactly good if players are looking for a balanced multiplayer experience when they buy the game. New players get totally mauled, and probably disheartened. The airstrikes and choppers for kill streaks in CoD4 are ridiculous as well. Someone who is good enough to get 7 kills in a row doesn't need a chopper to fly in and auto-kill another 7 people. It's just overkill. The maps aren't perfectly balanced in CoD4 either.
Halo on the other hand is much more appealing to anyone that enjoys competetive gaming. All of the maps were designed to be balanced as opposed to look totally awesome and unique. Everyone has the same distance to run to get vehicles, power-ups, good weaps, etc, and everyone starts with teh same weapons. That's how multiplayer should be in my eyes.
And one more thing that makes Halo 3 a great game in my opinion is the support it continues to get from Bungie. New maps to keep things fresh and interesting 2 years after release is nice.

I don't play FPS... Unless you consider Metroid one... And well I barely played that... To be honest, I suck at aiming with analog sticks. I prefer the mouse (though I dislike the keyboard, reason I don't play much games on PC) or Wiimote (ideal, analog for controls and pointer for aiming). I prefer RPG (many RPG fans here).
Lastly, WoW isn't bad (I got confused however about the goals of the game) but I don't have a credit card... Only pre-paid ones and they won't accept it... TOO EFFIN BAD for them! (Otherwise I would probably play it) *Goes off to play FFXI*
