Forums - PC - How many here know/play(ed) UFO: Afterlight?

Around the Network

I have the urge to replay this but doesn't look like I'll have the time :(

Never even heard of it, is it for PC?

Yes, it's under PC Discussion.
The battle system is my favourite. Squad base real time that you can pause and change instructions to your squad anytime.

It's a shame that very few people know about it.

The game is also very steep learning curve. Took me several restart of the game when i started out even I played the 2 previous ones.

Think of it like Xcom but in real time with pause-ability.

Sounds good, how much is it? I might purchase it...

I think I remember seeing people compare this to X-Com once. I've never played it however.

Any of your fav online store should have it for anywhere from 15-20 bucks, or less.

Be warned though, learning curve is very steep.

And your hours will disappear before you know it.

You get to do research and stuff that you salvaged from battle.

You get to manage your production.

You get to customize your weapons. Such a riffle having grenade launcher add on and aim scope, etc...

If you could actually get passed the learning/beginning part, you'll love this game.

The first and second game probably are much easier to swallow. The third game is much harder for beginner.

This game is crap. Sorry, but thats what I think about it. Cartoon style, annoying characters(yes that friggin grandma), shortness etc. make it total crap. Anyone who are going thinking about to try this, don't expect anything like original X-Com is. Lol, don't try extratrerrestials either. :D

Deneidez is right this game is nothing like the original. I didn't even pay for it and I still feel ripped off.

It isn't for everyone. Also, you don't have to use the character you hated. Just let her stay at the base and do research or let her die in battle, then you get new replacement.

Most people couldn't get over the learning curve.

And it's not X-Com. Totally different battle system.
