Forums - PC - Recommend me some good PC games

Alright well my computer is almost complete and needless to say.  I'm excited as f**k. So basicly I need some good PC game recomendations. Also graphics are absolutly not a problem as it's using a Q9650 overclocked to 3.5 ghz and has a GTX 285 (soon to be tri-sli)

I really like all genres excluding sports, and puzzle games so suggest any good games. I do take a big fancy towards mmo's though so if you have anything you would like to suggest other then WoW or Warhammer then bonus points for you.

I'm probably going to buy Last Remnant on PC seeing as my 360 died one me and I' am tired of waiting for a ps3 version and with the recent interview I don't think it's coming anytime soon and might even be canceled.

I'am picking up The Witcher as well, and some game a guy showed me in a thread i made earlier called Divinity 2.

Also like i said earlier my 360 is dead so any games on the 360 that are on PC would be cool as well.

Edit:  Also I have a question about steam. I like holding physical data for most games, and If i buy the physical game will i be able to use it on steam?  I really have no clue how steam works i only have a basic idea.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

Around the Network

About Steam: I have no idea. Sorry. :|

Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2:  No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?

thank you kindly wookaroo, gonna see what Solar empire is about, name sounds intriguing and never heard of it.

I agree with the above mostly for Sins of a Solar Empire and Last Remnant, the other games suggested are good too.

For Steam, it depends of the games. If you buy a retail COD4 game, you wont be able to add it in your steam account but you can place a shortcut in your steam game window. But if you buy a retail version of Counter Strike, you need to add it into your steam account in order to instal it.

I suggest you:
Unreal Tournament 3,
Call of Duty 4,
Left 4 Dead,
Team Fortress 2,
Counter Strike Source,
FEAR2,
Portal,
Mass Effect,
Fallout 3,
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

Thank you as well solid. How can i forget mass effect. I enjoyed it on my 360 but not to much, it felt to much like a PC game (not a bad thing it just have this sub-conscious thing in my mind always telling me this should be played on a PC. Hard to explain.) and now that i can run it a second play through is more then welcome.

Also I like RTS but i can only take so many of them at a time so.....I love Command and Conquer but the Solar Empire looks different and intrigues me while offering a new experience so im kinda confused what to get. If you absolutely had to get one of the two what would you guys suggest?

Hum, I got both and they are different. Sins plays on a much larger scales but Red Alert 3 is much faster. Personnally, I think I like Sins more than Red Alert 3 because its large, different than most RTS and fun.

AHA! I found my MMO. I completly forgot about this game and I feel stupid about it to as this is the game that initially gave me the thought that I should upgrade my PC. It's called Aion: The Tower of Eternity.

It's not out yet, but I will do some Everquest II until then and Aion will then tie me over until Blade and Soul. NCsoft is receiving lots of love from me lately.

For steam you have to put in the activation code that came with the game and you should be able to use it. (I'm not certain though cause most of my steam games I buy off steam)

thank you sir! I was actually just thinking wait no one answered my steam question fully yet, and came to post in here asking again to find this.

For starters, download steam... Then buy the orange box, l4d and bioshock. that will keep you going for a while :)

also, with steam, you can add any game to it, and all your friends will see that "you are playing a non-steam game... and then whatever you say the game is called". So yes you can play any game through steam. I think if you buy hard copies of VALVe games, then it makes you install steam, because as far as i know its only possible to play tf2 and l4d online through steam.

I was like you, in that i like having hard copies of the game... but steam really is awesome its just so much easier
