You're babying gays, that's how this country got flipped upside down, by babying everyone and everything.

How does anyone find out if you're gay? You either tell them or expose yourself somehow. Hell he could have put up some pictures of girls for awhile, anything, there are many ways this guy could have avoided the whole situation. It's his fault and Microsoft shouldn't have to pay him to make him happy.

(Not his fault because he's gay, but because he had to have handled this situation very poorly to let it get out of hand, then again, maybe he's just not a people person.)

Obviously you're all for gay rights, and that's fine, but I have a strict "Don't be a baby" rule, no exceptions.

I am not for babying the gays. I am for not treating them differently than anyone else. If the guy was dating an uggo no one would have hassled him about it for long. Expecting the same treatment for a gay couple is reasonable. And, again, it has to meet the criterion for a hostile work environment. It takes more than a bit of name calling, and it exists for everybody.

Who are gays? Well, by definition a gay person is one who is attracted to the same sex.

Now let's examine that... That seems pretty different from what's normal, hell, it's different from whats NATURAL.

Now what causes one to be gay? Well some say it's because they are raised differently, others say that there is something different in their brain.

Are you starting to see where I'm going with this? No? Ok then:

Now let's see how gays behave, generally, they act differently than a straight counterpart.

Gays are different, it's obvious that they will be treated differently, and you know what, they ask to be treated different. They distrupt city streets with protests, and they disturb the peace, and upset much of the public. They walk around in these protests basically saying "I'm different and I want you to know it, but at the same time I want you to pretend I'm not different."

Anyways, I see gays as a splattered bug smudging the windshield of society among many many other things, and you don't, bickering about it isn't going to change either of our opinions.

Things were better when they were all in the closet and kept their sexuality to their selves. Gay people certainly existed back in the 70's and 80's, but we didn't have these problems back then. The only people that need to know if you are gay are other gay people.

It shouldn't matter if a person is gay or not. Even without telling the whole office in person the secrets can get out. Picture of loved ones are acceptable in an office, and a dead give away if they are all of you cuddling with a person of the same sex. Just as easy to spot someone out on a date with a member of the same sex. Expecting these people to hide in the shadows of society is reducing them to second class citizens. It turns out thats a bad idea.

I don't bring my klan robe and Nazi flags to work because it could make my jewish and black co-workers feel uncomfortable. I can't even keep a picture of Hitler on my desk.

So, sometimes you have to inconvience yourself to not offend the majority.

Some people enjoy inconviencing the majority to not have themselves offended. It's alot of small little angry groups that cause all the problems and get dumb laws passed.

Hate is ugly. Sexuality is beautiful.

Personally, two guys kissing is not my idea of beautiful....

Yay for the internet. But some men/women can't help that they feel comfortable acting like the other gender.

Free expression for the win.

lol free expression for the win?

well if he's free to express he's gay, isn't everyone else at work free to call him a queermo?

wouldn't free expression go both ways?

Women are different then men, and blacks are different than whites. Treating people differently is not based on minor differences like that. The fact that we are still human is a much bigger similarity. Treating people like second class citizens because they are different went out of style decades ago.

Oh and I have been skirting the moral debate because it is meaningless. I am debating office politics. Regardless of whether you like gays or not is entirely irrelevant as you have no power to make them disapear, and the government has the power to support them.

Well that explains a lot about your personal views on subjects at least. Still, when gays start rounding people up and executing them you will have a point. Until then they do not directly harm anyone and thus are not the same as those groups.

So, cultural bias on your part? Not a good reason. Get over your culture and become a bias free thinker.

Two males kissing is lovely. But I'm bi and think guys are really sexy...

You're biased towards gays....

You'd think that, but there are a number of limits oddly enough. More to the point though Microsoft is not the government. freedom of expression doesn't really apply here.

 @Usename
And you are biased against them. What difference does that make?

They are gay, so they are treated as being gay, not as second class citizens. And that second bolded part is an opinion. They hurt people morally and mentally, and sometimes physically.

This planet is going out of control.... Soon beastiality will be legal, and we'll see people walking around holding hands with chimps....

Ya know, most forms of homosexuality are probably curable with the proper hormone treatments if you catch it before puberty. I'm sure it's just a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes it.

We treat so many other mental illnesses, why do we ignore this one?

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
