Giving in to irrational pressure groups is hardly being the bigger 'person'.

being irrational would be to tell the developer to take the games off the shelves.... which from what i can see they are not doing.....

What? It's good that they're not trying to do that, but worrying about the killing of dogs in a WWII video game is pretty irrational. Do they have scientific evidence that there's a link between dogs in war video games and cruelty to animals in real life?

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I am guessing this would drive them nuts then huh? This is like a double whammy for them. Double dead!

Just to add to my previous post, me and my family have a habit of bringing in strays that have no homes. People say we should bring them to a shelter, but odds are not that high that most of them will be picked up and brought into a home.

Well PETA has no problem if u kill a dead dog... besides... if it starts chewing on your face... you dont have many options...

that not true you could distract him with a tasty tofu treat and while he is muchin ghtat leave his area as you are in fact invading his personal space, but not before you rub behind his ears and tell him what a good dog he is (they need that to feel complete)

Next they're gonna start a crusade to make Mario games more turtle-friendly. :p

Neither is anything wrong with keeping the dogs in the CoD game. Who the fuck are the PETA to tell me, you or any developer out there what they should or shouldn't do? Last I checked they weren't even an active part of the gaming industry.

This is just them trying to force their views onto everyone else. As usual...

Here is a good example of just how far these groups go.

http://www.newsday.com/news/printedition/longisland/ny-lipeta176072241mar17,0,5333870.story

A fucking Elementary School of all places... stopping children on the way out of school to preach to them about how bad circus' are and how badly they treat animals.

When I read that in my Newsday the other day I felt enough was enough.

ok first off im gonna go ahead and disregard the second par since it has nothing to do w/ the argument.

Secondly ... i dont see them forsing their vies on anyone... they were just offended by what they saw.... and that was something that can absolutelly be removed in the NEXT CoD without it hurting the gameplay in anyway... why is this such a problem?

It has to do with the PETA trying to force  push their views on everything, including trying to do so now with the gaming industry.

Giving and an doing what I bolded would be exactly what I am trying to point out. It would be us giving in to their views on how things should and shouldn't be done. That is what the "problem" is.

Why is a problem to have the dogs in there? Because the PETA doesn't like it? Too bad.

ok im gonna go ahead and twist in on you real quick

if a publisher makes a game tomorrow on the major consoles and in it i will include baby seal clubing that would be ok since in a video game? A lot of people including me will find it distastefull.... as with this game... some people find it distastefull... once again i must reinorate that having dogs in the game does not improve the gameplay in any way... and they are not asking to pull the game off the shelves.. they are asking to not include them in the next game

and i do not see the conection with fictional pokemon in which by theway they never graphically die....

that was a joke post on my part but i will reword it for you in a more serious mannor sinse "internet is serious business"...

RE evil dogs are dead... and they are presented in such mannor just like the zombies in that game... while in CoD they are represented realistically... and the game itself is based on actual events... and in WW2 they were trained to kill soldeirs by no choise of their own...
