Reports are in that US production of the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Blu-ray are complete and that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment plans to release it stateside sometime in June. Blu-ray.com also reports a slew of features, the most interesting being an “Exclusive Sneak Peek at FINAL FANTASY XIII”.

Nothing is confirmed at this point, and the “sneak peek” could end up being nothing more than another blue ball educing trailer, but if you like to hope (and who doesn’t) here’s a little more fuel for your hope powered jet pack. A Square Enix spokesperson told MCV the following back in January as a part of the Japanese announcement of Advent Children:

“At present the Final Fantasy XIII demo will only be available in Japan with the Blu-ray release of Advent Children Complete, but we hope to have further news in the coming months,”

Could this be that “further news” the representative was speaking of? Only time and profit margins will tell, but considering the rate at which units moved off the store shelves in Japan, my money says you will be seeing a demo in the US release as well.

it depends on square enix .demo is ready for PS3 by then so it might happen.

The demo is in japanese and I dont think they would translate it.

Wasn't it "japan gets the game first, then localisation"? If so: why go through the trouble of translating for a demo or something?

there is subtitle in english. we can always import it

Not to mention if they wanted to release a US demo they would have to release it for both consoles, it doesnt make much sense to release it exclusively for PS3 in the region where it's multiplat.

I thought it was confirmed that the demo should hit Japan only but if they release it for US why not Europe aswell.

2 big reasons why this won't happen.

1) They haven't even begun the port for 360. The lead developer already stated that the game will be completed 100% on     PS3 before they port to 360. In other words, they have no gamecode for 360, therefore no demo.

2) It's the blu-ray version of Advent Children bundled with the demo. Unless someone owned a 360 and a Blu-ray player, they'd be paying alot just to get a demo.
