Forums - Microsoft - Bungie throws down some Halo 3 stats. User content, map pack sales, etc.

This has to be one of the most profitable FPS ever, if not the most. I bought Halo 3 @ midnight in the local wal-mart release day, have all the maps, and still play a few hours with my brother every week. They also have me on the hook for the Mythic maps on April 9. These stats really put the reach this game has into perspective! Thanks JaggedSac

Does the Legendary pack still cost money?

15th in February really? On VGCHARTZ it looks like it is a lot less.

VGC has it at 18th for the month of February, and 15th when you take out Wii Sports and the 360 bundle games.  Granted I don't know what sort of adjustments might have taken place.

The same amount of players that have played COD4 on the PS3 and the 360 have played Halo 3. =\

 wow, that is HUGE.

I mean think about it: 5000 downloads / day => 360*5000 = 1,800,000 downloads (of course there were probably MUCH more downloads when this pack released, but anyway)

1,800,000 downloads * 7.5 USD (600 points = 7.5USD; I guess it was more expensive in its early days) = 13,500,000 USD revenue for a freaking map pack.

I guess there were like 3,000,000 downloads, because most of the players bought it straight after the release. I calculated they sold as many packs on the first day as they do now, one year after release. And If I remember right, it was 800Points at first (10 dollars instead of 7.5). The revenue of this pack is probably more than $30,000,000! Do I have a brain-lag or is this possible? It seems to much for me, but I can't find out where my mistake could be.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Halo 3 is the only game this gen that earned my money and can't be traded...I don't even want to finish RE5 cause freinds are playing custom games on halo 3. And I stood in line for RE4 on the gamecube and bout the game and the system for that game only.

How times have changed...

I have all the map packs so far :P

Xbox Live. Some of these are even achievements. Not very difficult to track.
