GT5 may not move as much hardware as expected, but im still confident it will sell 8m at least (for comparison see Halo 3 on 360) its essentially Sony's biggest IP (on a WW stage) and given how Halo 3 sold 8m on the 360 when its userbase was around 15-20m, Gran Turismo should at least match that on the PS3 (userbase will be 25-30m by its release)

GT is the most famous console racing game in history.

4-5m is ridiculous. This title will sell a lot of consoles. It is one of the Sony bread and butter titles that people had to have like MGS, GTA, FF.
