Gran Turismo 5 will move come consoles, I'll admit that but I don't think it'll sale as much as people are expecting. Just look at MGS4 for example

The game itself will easily be the best selling game on the PS3, 7 million minimum but in terms of hardware I do not see it shifting many consoles.

MGS4 is on par with MGS3. I expect GT5 to match GT4.

You really think GT5 will sell only 4-5 million? Thats way too low for a GT game.

That is your opinion and you have a right to it.  Whether or not GT5 will follow the LONG history of sales or not is undetermined.  However, history is not on your side.  Even GT5P (2+million) sold more than GT4P (1.4million) sold, so what did GT4 sell?  The answer is over 9 million.

MGS4, by the time it runs out of steam, will have easily surpassed MGS3's sales.
This is without a "Superdupersubsistence" re-release, which will likely come eventually.

On topic, I think people are underestimating Gran Turismo's popularity with a couple of these recent threads.
There is a reason it gets so much publicity and that Kazunori Yamauchi is prominent in the actual auto industry.

PS3 beat the Wii that week. I believe that has only happened twice in our little history.

I think its gonna sell a lot. And help PS3 as well. Its gonna beat 4/5mil.
