I was on killzone 2 just now and started playing a new round (I had been in this particular game for a couple of rounds) and then the graphics went slightly strange on me! It isn't my TV nor is it my HDMI cable and as you can see from the video and pictures the HUD is still clear on my screen...

Don't know what caused it and I just thought I would share this moment of madness with you guys!

I would only be worried if resetting didn't fix it (which I'm assuming did).

This has actually happened to me twice so far and it's also something similar to what happened to me while playing Warhawk. In Warhawk all textures essentially turned black, including my character but the game was still playing and functioning.

The game was running fine, then I started the next round and it started to do exactly what yours did above.


My PS3 is very well ventilated, I clean out the dust,etc. I was concerned it was my graphics card frying or something but I just turned off the PS3 and restarted it and it was fine.

I have a 60GB launch model, but I'm not sure.  Good to hear I'm not alone.

Oh you have had the Warhawk problem too? The textures on mine went all black and flashed very rapidly between black and the colours they were supposed to be, it was like epilepsy and made the game rather interesting and of course unplayable.

I too have a 60GB launch model and there is nothing above it or next to it so it isn't a heat or dust problem, but resetting it did sort it out, at least for now!

Ya this has been on youtube. Usually machine reset works. I have seen stranger stuff on Killzone 2 MP. (Dead body dangles in mid-air)

Apparently the best way to fix it is to bend your killzone 2 disk 90 degrees, and ofc you'd say:

"how will my console play a bent disk?"

Well, the answer is simple, all you then need to do is bend your console 90 degrees.
