In terms of destroying a domination. SONY with the PS3

360 does have the edge and will probably end up in second place, but I still think it's to early to call it. This year will be the make or break for Sony. Hell they could do something crazy and prolong the price drop only to lower the PS3 to $249.99 USD, who knows....

The PS3's lifespan has the potential to be significantly longer than the Xbox 360s. It's selling at a faster rate overall and it is just a more advanced piece of hardware in general.

The PS3 will see a steady amount of sales as Blu-Ray adoption grows and takes over the market. Sony can still package the PS3 as a nice Blu-Ray player in the future.



While I think it will be very, very close. I think assuming both consoles are released for the same amount of time, the PS3 will win the battle of sales.



And no the generation doesn't end when someone releases a new console. The PS2/Gamecube/Xbox generation is still going on. The winner is clear cut at this point though.

Let's use VG chartz hmmm in the same timeframe PS3 is outselling 360! Would you look at that... And it's twice the price? Not only will PS3 outsell the 360 LDT but when that happens it will be very humiliating for M$.

BTW this generation doesn't end when MS drops the 720.

Sony's hole has been dug too deep. Even if it's with a bitter taste, Microsoft will win the HD battle this generation.
