more failure from our outstanding police force

Just finished watching it, that's really bad they never had a reason at all to act like that, I wonder why they were being like that

Hasn't random stop n searches been legal in the UK for years? I think it is fair enough to search people, but it obviously got way out of hand. The police managed to turn a bunch of peaceful campers into angry people.

Bloody Sunday comes to mind.

I feel that this is definitely a mistake from the higher ups, while its easy to blame the officers they are presumably following orders to push them back and if they refuse to move back then they should use action etc.

stop and search should be ILLEGAL, its abhorent, who decides who look's suspicous? no doubt here it leads to racial profiling, like ID cards.

Coming from a 17 year old living in london who has been searched a good couple of times I am very pro stop and searching, the streets around here would be so much worse if people knew that the police have no right to search you if you aren't doing anything wrong at that time.

I even know a few guys who would still bring their "protection" knives into school if it weren't for the police hanging around outside it all day.

Plus its not too hard to tell who would have drugs/weapons on them without stereotyping, you just need to look at their body language or whether they popped their hood up at the sight of the police.

wtf, that sounds like a good way to stop alot of innocent people to me, the knife problem would be better tackeld through education than criminalising all young people

Thats pretty crazy. taking kids crayons? They are abusing their positions probably for some big wig's agenda.

they need to search more imo with all the mad sheiks there.

Just trying to beat some sense into the no new coal protestors. What's the big deal? It's not like their cops have guns or anything. I bet their night sticks are made out of soft rubber too.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
