If that:
Turn based: either Final Fantasy VIII, Xenosaga Ep 3 or Persona 4
Action: Star Ocean 3
Tactic Rpg: Final Fantasy Tactics
There needs to be more Xenogears on your list. How can anybody not love it's combat system.

The game doesn't seem very popular 'round these parts, but I'm really enjoying the battle system in Eternal Sonata. It's a fantastic mixture of both turn-based and action-based elements. I wish more games would follow suit; it felt like a revelation.
The party level also changes the way things work as the game progresses, adding a welcome element of variety.
