Hmmm... I figured this thread would have been ransacked by the FF7 fanboys for that one scene, and I'dve given them a leg to stand on, even if I do think FF6 was more depressing. For those who don't go that far back, I'll propose Luminous Arc 2. I kept thinking I was doing the right thing, only to not do so. And if you want really old, Ghosts and Goblins. I know I was depressed after being the boss to be told I have to do it all over again...
