My god I love shooters last Gen i wasnt much of a shooter at all, Call of duty 4 and its Multiplayer turned me into an addicted shooter/Savage sniper codenamed Soap lol. Since than I have bought Kilzone 2, Quantom of Solace, R6vegas, r6vegas2, Cod5, Resistance 2 and Far cry2. I know some people have said that there are too many shooters hitting the market, I say the more the merrier. I hope to purchase the Xbox 360 also the home of great shooters e.g. Halo 3, Gears of war 2 etc.

The thread is made to praise the 'Shooter genre', discuss upcoming games. Best Multiplayer offerings, which game is considered the 'King of shooters. Many have said that Killzone 2 has overtaken Cod4 as the King of shooter, what do you think? Please participate with your comments and contributions and what game your most looking forward to.

Many people forget that Ghost recon: Advanced Warfighter was the first real HD shooter, Universally acclaimed and the only game to have received a 9.9 from Gametrailers. Which is quite an achievement considering the stellar of shooter released.

The most anticipated shooter 'Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 is expected to be released this November, which should give killzone 2 a run for it's money. The Wanted 'videogame' is coming soon.

Games to look forward to:

• Cod Modern Warfare 2 release date 19th of November 2009
• Gears of War 3 is expected to be released fall of 2010, awaiting confirmation.
• Killzone 3 is expected to be released in 2010, awaiting confirmation.
• New titles James bond game expected 2010 release.
• Ubisoft are set to release 2 brand new Ip's (shooters)
• Resistance 3 expected to be released in the near future lol
• A new Ip from Bungie Studios.
• A new titled Brothers is Arms game.

Perfect Dark 2.

As someone relatively new to shooters you wouldn't remember this, but Perfect Dark is always in competition for the greatest console shooter ever made.

Really? I had no idea when is the game stated to be released?

King of multiplayer? Resistance 2 easily. Best co-op experience on a console, aswell as epic 60 player battles.

However, overall I believe KZ2 trumps R2 in other departments to make it the best shooter of this generation and in my opinion, the best shooter ever.

We don't know if it even exists.  Perfect Dark was pure brilliance, but then Rare released a quick launch title Perfect Dark Zero, that wasnt great but was good.

But if they ARE making a TRUE sequel to the brilliant original, it would be the best shooter of the generation if done properly.

Counter-Strike is easily the king of shooters.

Of course. It's been out for around 10 years now and is still widely played. There was a version that come out of for the original Xbox, it fizzled pretty fast.
