I want you to imagine the following scenario both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 are at 50m consoles sold. Both consoles have sold 25m in America and Europe to maintain an even playing field I have exclude the 'Japan region' so we are looking at the US and Pal region. So what would happen if both games released on the same day, with both consoles at 50m.

The Gran Turismo brand is strong in Europe while the Halo brand is strong in America. Interesting indeed 

Both games are 'HUGE' so what game would come out on top and why??

Japan is crazy for Gran Turismo awel... so it's kinda unfair xD.

But eithe way Gran Turismo always wins for me :)

Even non hardcore gamers buy it, and with a userbase of 50 million it'll be easier for casual gamers to buy it!

For openning day sales Halo 3 definitely but for LTD sales it's much harder to say. I would have to give the edge to GT simply for past sales of the franchise but I must say I think it's going to be difficult for the game to beat Halo 3's sales this generation.

Gran Turismo would win, as it would sell much better in Japan and sales would be somewhat similar in US and EU.

Halo 4(Hypothetically) and GT5 might be a better comparison. As to which of the two I would pick it would be hard to say. Halo 3- front loaded with decent legs vs. GT5- Somewhat front loaded with great legs. Only time will tell on this one.

What would happen if Gran Turismo 5 and Halo 3 launched on the same day?

You misinterpret me. Yes I did say decent legs but I mean compared to GT5. Halo 3 has great legs of coarse :P . I was also talking about a hypothetical Halo 4. GT5 would have legs in Americas/EU/Japan where else Halo 4 would have legs in Americas/EU. I just think GT5 will have better legs in the longrun. I'm comparing the two games directly and not including others. Cause the truth be told Wii Fit, Wii Play, and Wii Sports stomps all over GT5/Halo.
