I live in Montreal. Good place to live. In Canada so I can't use that site to find statistics. Personal experience means little, but I'm out late night and the last time I got approach was grade 9.

Some homeless guy in montreal warned me to not go outside during the night.
Said it's a nice city but the "demons come out at night."
Think he was being figurative not literal... suggested some shows and attractions around montreal too.
It is a cool place. The large amount of homeless was the only issue i had but i suppose that's going ot happen anywhere with such a large population.
