Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft and platform games =/

Non of those have adrenaline dripping muscle guys with badass weapons -> they wouldn't sell well.

I love platform games, it's a shame the genre isn't doing well atm...

I believe that except for estabilished franchises, from now on we will see platform games mostly in digital form. by the way, short length aside, I think The Maw is pretty cool. and IIRC there's an Oddworld game in development.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

There are some on the XBL.

But war... war never changes

um kameo says hi
there r plenty of platform games but they suck (besides kameo)
crash, spyro, and wall-e are all platform games.
also u can probably count sonic and banjo as well in this category
as u can see none of these games sold well(besides kameo) so y would people keep making them

I'm not saying there aren't any on the 360. Obviously Rare provides some interesting platformers and there are the multiplatform ones like Tomb Raider and Sonic. I am talking about bringing back and perhaps making the original ones on the 360 and making them better.

I remember playing Blinx. At the time, I thought the character models looked so cool.

Psychonauts was a lot of fun. Definitely enjoyed it more than Blinx. Doubt the franchise will return though.

Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2:  No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?

360 is a bit better than the Xbox thanks to XBLA.

We have had a few decent platformers on the 360 thus far:

Mirror's Edge (Multi)
Crackdown (Yes, it's a sandbox shooter. But dang it, the platforming is better than the game!)
Braid
The Maw
Kameo

And there've been probably 2-3 dozen others on XBLA that are exclusive, or multi-plat.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Kameo's not a platformer. It's an adventure game in the same area as the Legend of Zelda. Jumping along platforms is no more than maybe a miniscule percentage of the game.

I believe Cloning Clyde qualifies as a platformer though.
