Don't worry, if the game is great it will sell great, just look at NSMB 
And by the way, 3rd party don't need to sell over a million to have good sales. Huge numbers from Brain Training, ACWW, NSMB made people looking for huge numbers, while +300k are good sales (for a non-high profile game).
