Forums - Gaming - Deus Ex 3????

The 1st is still the best 1st person shooter ever made, and, the 1st to have RPG elements, too. I liked the 2nd, although, it did get bagged, mainly cause it left out the leveling up parts. I cannout wait for Deus-Ex 3, It is a must buy for any fan of cyber-punk, choose your own ending (good, or bad), story drive shooters.

Definitely at the top of my list for the PS3!

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Deus Ex wasn't the first FPS to have RPG elements, it probably had the most though.

A few comments here.

First, anybody who every played Quake 3 on DC against a PC player would understand just how vastly superior the mouse is against a stick. Ever wonder why there are so few games that allows crossplay?

Second look at RTS', Halo Wars included. These ARE dumbed down versions. Why? because the controls are less accurate and responsive. If not why the hell couldn't they just do a straight port?

Third, auto-aim and all the other "handicaps" afforded to consoles. RB6 was hard as hell, the console version are a breeze.

Anybody who follows my posts know I don't talk PC much but frankly the PC is the ultimate HD console with vastly better graphics and control. The only problem is games, which there are not too many, and cost.

Thank god it seems like dual analogue is dead, after the success of the Wii I have no doubt the next batch of consoles will come out of the dark age on control.

I was playing UT 2004 the other day. I was playing with my thought based interface and absolutely pwning the stupid noob keyboard/mouse users. Do you know they called me a hacker? They couldn't handle my skillz because I pwned them with my mind.

Tease.

Maybe we can consider Deus Ex the first Stealth FPS - Action RPG... Or maybe only Stealth Action RPG, as unlike in FPS', you don't simply find weapons and ammos et voilà, you can kick ass if your reflexes and skill are good enough, in Deus Ex, like in every RPG, to kick ass with a weapon you must have your PC grow in experience, have the pertinent stats high enough, sometimes, like in Deus Ex, Elder Scrolls, AD&D games, etc, have proficiency in a weapon or class of weapons, etc.

Actually reading up more on it, Deus Ex 3 sounds like such bullshit. They are making regening health, augmentations such as, and i quote :""Multi-Kill" which kills 3-4 enemies." Seriously? Just leave the fucking franchise alone and go ruin some other franchise.

I read this thread title and pissed my pants.

Then I read this post and now I'm just angry, sitting in my own urine for no reason.

killzone 2 is a perfect example of a game on consoles which challenges many pc games. no auto-aim, great graphics and sound etc.

I agree it has PC quality graphics, not the best, but comperable. And clearly Sony put in some seriously awesome production values. But unless the drop the sticks and innovate in control, things simply can't progress too far in the input department.

well, the thing is that they can't start using a keyboard with consoles because that'll just reduce consoles to dumbed down pc's. IR is a good option but i doubt they are going to adapt it.

I doubt they will adopt it this generation, no doubt. But I think we will see it on the PS4 (and next Xbox) with near certaintly. IR would seriouly close the gap and even allow the argument that it is perhaps better than the keyboard + mouse- of course depending on implementation.

I think there are some things that could be done with the Dualshock in the short term that are minor. Things like stick placement would do wonders. I hate the 360 buttons (xept the triggers), and it has a terrible terrible d-pad, but they got the sticks right.
