You do know that 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999% of crimes commited with guns were obtained illgeally right? Let me ask you, would you rob someone if you thought they had a gun? Probably not. Look at other places that have outlwaed guns, their crime went UP not down. Now stop talking out your ass. Leave america for the UK or something. enjoy cutting your steak with a spoon.

I won't get into the heated debate about gun legislation just now but I'll just say that that statistic is complete bullshit and that vlad was right to dismiss your opinion earlier on.

If we hold your argument true it means that 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 guns crimes and commited with a legal firearm. There has not been that much gun crimes in the history of man which means that only ONE gun crime commited with a legal firearm would make your stat wrong and I think we can all agree there has been at least one of those.

Next time if you want your argument to be respected say something like "the overwhelming majority of guns crime [...]" or "in most cases [...]"

SO you are another person who reads evberything word for word instead of "99.999999999999999999999999 must mean the majority" Ofcourse not. Its too hard to think right?

Yes apparently it is too hard for you to think that someone reading that ludicrous stat will conclude that you don't know what you're talking about.

Samuel, do you want the honest truth about our crime rate?

The murders and various killings are done by minority groups such as blacks and hispanics, as opposed to whites and asians. It's not about guns, it's about people groups within our society.

Here's the proof:

Further skewing this is the fact that Hispanics are lumped in with Whites, while they have higher violent crime rates than asians and caucasians (which would go along with crime rates in Latin American countries).

I don't mean to sound racist, but these are the hard truths of American society. Being the melting pot that we are, it does cause differences among races, primarily backed by lifestyle choices, and socio-economic backgrounds (as we can see with the Black crime rate, it's gone down as their education rates, and average income have gone up. The same can be said for Hispanics, too. However, far more are coming in-country which drives their rates up among the general populace - newer, 'safer' Hispanics are intergrated into our society while more illegals come across our border, which are more prone to crime and violence).

That's the simple reasoning behind US crime rates. Europe has a long standing heritage of a more closed society, we do not. It's both our blessing and curse.

*Edit*:

I should make a correction. I am not saying that only blacks and hispanics commit violent crimes. All races do. But there's plenty of statisical evidence that points to minorities (Hispanics and Blacks make up 25% of our population) comitting more crimes, per capita, than whites. Since this is true, it does have a tendancy to increase our crime rates. Europe, and other low-crime countries usually have one far more dominant ethnicity than we do.

  • Japan 98.2%
  • United Kingdom: 92.1%
  • Germany: 91.2% (large portion of remaining 8.8% being other European ethnicities)
  • United States: 65.9% (15% Hispanic, 12.8% black)

I believe this is a telling sign of why our crime rates are higher than Europe. There are far less in America. Also, one should note that legal gun ownership is much higher among whites than other races.

And again, as yet another release: I'm not attacking other races, I am merely pointing out correlating factors with our crime rates.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Yes but it's usually for comedic effect like the "Your mom is so fat" jokes.

In an argument, it's not beneficial at all. You said you have studied the subject, why not post the real percentages of gun crimes commited with illegal/legal firearms? I, for one, would be very interested to know more about it because right now all I know is that the illegal outweigh the legal but your overexagerated point leaves things very vague.

My computer broke. I don't have any of that info. And I don't feel like looking it up again. But check my post history if you think the broken computer is a lie.

Can you give me a ballpark figure? (Just to be clear I'm not calling you a liar, I'm genuinely interested in knowing this)

I am fairly sure that would be about what it is for all parts of the country. Give or take a few %. I don't remember exactly what my info said, as it is 4 years old now.
