Now how in the hell do I hook it up to my computer? What are the steps invovled into being able to play media off my computer on my PS3, all help much appreciated.

which OS and Media server software are you using?

use WMP11 to sharing your media files if you're using windows.

just use "PS3 Media Server"...absolutely the best out there....plays virtually every format...even displays .mkv and its subtitles...

I have Windows XP Media Center. I have WMP11, VLC, Divx Player, Media Player Classic, and a few others.

Ok nevermind I got, wow I never thought something that Microsoft programmed would work so easily, I haven't used WMP11 in forever, I am quite surprised.

^- i know right? A Microsoft product works WONDERS with both the PS3 AND PSP. ironic eh? :P

I just tried the "PS3 Media Server". It's so much better than WMP11.

Oh wait, sorry guys, my excitement was premature. After adding my files and what not to WMP11 the program locked up and now refuses to close....
