Forums - Gaming - Nintendo's best Wii games would all be better on PS360

Obviously leaving out games that are built for the controller (Wii Sports, Play, Music, Fit), Nintendo's hardcore franchises on the Wii would be exponentially better on the PS360.

Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing, Brawl and Mario Kart could have been truly incredible with HD visuals, better online component if applicable, downloadable content and achievements/trophies as they barely utilise the Wii's strong point. They would be better on HD consoles, that's an unarguable fact.

When I think about it like this, I really wish Nintendo hadn't taken the easy option and instead produced a powerful console similar to the PS360.

well Ill argue.

Graphics arent everything, theirs a reason Id rather play NES games then GTA IV or Gears Of Wars, its called gameplay, Iv never cared for graphics in games, I know we all dont share that sentiment but hey.

Online is fine for games like Mario Kart, it has everything it could need, Galaxy and Twilight well I dont see how online could be applied here.

DLC its on Wii, just less, it will come. Look at Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King, big DLC is coming to Wii

Achecivments / trophys. Is this really that great? seems to me it can just be implemented in a game if they really want to (Mega Man 9)

their, I argued your unarguable fact.

I figured it was a joke but sarcasm is undetecable on the internet, so what your saying is that Okami would of sold a million on the PS360.

V_V It didn't sell a million on the Ps2... when the install base was 2x Xbox360+PS3... yea...

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

You're saying that Wii's best games would work better without Wii's best control schemes?

I'm sorry, but that's all kinds of stupid.

I will never use an analog stick to aim a bow and arrow again, when I can point and click with my own arm, which is faster and easier. And the majority of Mario Kart Wii players prefer tilt controls over analog controls. Brawl is the only game there where a majority of people prefer oldschool controls, but that game is all Nintendo characters, and it's not Nintendo's fault that neither Microsoft nor Sony has half the interesting cast, so they can't make a similar game. Galaxy only used a little IR pointing, but taking that away to upgrade the graphics would still hurt the game.

You miss the point Red, the controls for these games using the Wii Remote make the game more interesting. Graphics are far from everything that makes a game.

Since  a well built PC destroys XB360/PS3 graphics, it can then be translated that all PS3/XB360 games would all be better on the PC. Fortunately about 75% of the PS360 games come to the PC also. Now if you argue that you like using a controller to play, then you see my initial point of why the Wii Remote makes the Wii games you mentioned more enjoyable.

Wrong thread?

I think the OP just shows how little he knows about these Nintendo games.

There is IR use in all of the games he mentioned. They are made for the controller, even if they don't have to be.

I could say how much better LBP would be on the Wii since it would have had better controllers with motion -- but I will refrain (and yes, I realize that if I were starting a thread with that comment, it would be flamebait -- but here I use it to show how ridiculous the OP is).

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

You're arguing with a straw man there.  You can improve the hardware to something better then 2001 tech while still maintaining Wii style controls (if anything better tech would make it EASIER to accurately control the game with gestures).  Saying "I love the Wii controls" as a counter to "the Wii should be more powerful since then games would have better graphics and more capabilities" just doesn't make any sense.

The Wii would indeed be better, and might actually be worth continuing to own (I sold mine a while back) if it had some decent hardware in there along with the new control mechanisim.  I mean just look at Chop till you Drop, that game would have been great fun with the Wiimote if only the Wii didn't have to make it look like a crappy PS2 port.  RE4 was probably the best Wii game I played, but they can't have RE5 because the Wii can't come close to handling the graphics.  If I could play RE5 on the Wii (and games like it) I would be a Wii owner, but because Nintendo only uses parts from 10 year old consoles to design their systems (the SNES/N64 powered DS, the Gamecube powered Wii) I can't.

Wait, people are arguing against the capabilities of HD consoles just because you may shoot a bow once every 3 hours for 5 seconds on Zelda?

Sigh...

Microsoft and Sony should get on that, then.
