Umbrella Corporation has bought out Avon, zombie apocalypse imminent
Watching television the other night with the fiancee. We were watching Lost if I remember correctly. Was making a smoke (we roll our own, saves a lot of money) and a commercial came on. Usually we don’t pay attention to commercials as they are annoying and detract from the story we are watching. We usually use that time to reflect upon the story arc and what could possibly happen next. Yet this commercial was quite different.
As I was putting some tobacco in the machine, I saw an Umbrella Corporation Regenerate vial. I thought, “Wow, why are they playing an old trailer on new TV?”
Then I saw that it was for a new AVON product. ANEW Clinical Derma-Full X3 Facial Filling Serum is what they call it. I turned to the fiancee and stated, “I didn’t know Umbrella was making products again.” She looked up, and laughed.
Whoever got this commercial out must be laughing in their sheer geek glory. How they got this out to the public at large is mind boggling but genius at the same time. You can contrast and compare the two adverts below.
As you can see, both vials of anti-aging formula look quite similar. The fact that they are both anti-aging formula makes it even better. The idea that even the voice overs are close together is amazing. Hell, even the visuals are a bit closer together for comfort.
Is this a sign of the looming zombie apocalypse? Is AVON really controlled by Umbrella Corporation? Will Raccoon City survive? Will Jill finally become a jibble sandwich?
