Now, I know that you are working on a degree in English, so this behavior of yours has me a bit concerned and confused. I don't think that my posts are that difficult to follow. It could be that since I am using my PS3 pad to input these posts that I am being a bit less careful in my writing than usual; however, I don't think that your inability to follow is entirely my own. So, I suspect that you may have a slight reading comprehension problem. Perhaps you should get it checked out before you begin teaching so that you don't misdirect your future students in their scholastic endeavors. |
You could be reported for this post I am quoting; I want you to be aware of that, to lend context to what I am about to say to you concerning the post you made before.
When I responded with "What" as a statement, rather than a question, it is a statement of disbelief, as close as I can come to saying that an idea is preposterous without actually saying it. Why?
You have taken the indefensible position that there is a higher authority when it comes to the objective quality of games, and supplemented the standard position (that metacritic determines AAA titles) with an even more ludicrous one: that there is a single website or magazine or other review source that can be cited in order to qualify a game as one of the be-all, end-all titles. Not only do you look at this list and say to yourself "Yep, this guy is the go-to authority and I'm going to use him to make veiled insults towards people based on what I assume to be their ages," you go a step further in only looking at his reviews for a single system!
This exercise is not only puerile to the point of juvenility, it is intellectually dishonest, and, to borrow the phrase, cherry picking.

The news that the Playstation 3 has 55% of the good games the Xbox 360 has has reportedly sent Xbox 360 fanboys into a tailspin, with fears that the Playstation 3 may surpass the Xbox 360 in terms of gaming quality as early as 2037. Rumours that Sony is planning to extend their 8-10 year plan to a 31 year plan to beat the Xbox 360 in light of the PS3's game quality resurgence have contributed to mass hysteria. Speaking of mass, it's looking increasingly like Mass Effect 2 may go to the PS3 exclusively, as games developers bow down before the console's epic resurgence in terms of comparitive game quality. Speaking of Epic, Gears of War 3 being exclusive to the Playstation 3 is now considered a given by industry insiders. Upon hearing the news that they will only possess the dominant current generation game's console for another 28 years, many Xbox 360 owners have taken too intentionally RRoding their consoles and seeking refunds from Microsoft. Microsoft has refused. Whilst acknowledging that their situation is dire, they are promising to immediately enact a plan that would maintain the Xbox 360's AAA lead into the 2040's. They point out that despite PS3 fanboy arguments made in the past, the Xbox 360 has consistently maintained a real-terms AAA lead over the PS3 of around 9 games. Microsoft is hoping that that psychological barrier will make developers fearful of making AAA games PS3 exclusive despite this extraordinary news. Whilst most Xbox 360 gamers are contemplating leaving gaming, with some going so far as too plan mass suicides, others have turned to what was formally a PS3 fanboy comfort. "Well it could be worse, at least I didn't buy a Wii." |
2 of the Xbox360 are DLCs, 2 are XBLA games..
So it's more like 16....
Heck I didn't even know DLCs were getting reviews and a metacritic rating..
Shouldn't the PS3 loose points for only having the crippled versions of Fallout 3 and GTA:IV?
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

@khuutra, no it isn't. I've been following Gamefan since 1994. I even have my name in a couple of issues. See, much as some people want to hide behind such relativistic thinking as there is no objective truth in the world. There has to be order and authority. Now as I said many of these young, fresh out of college folks reviewing games for websites, and giving undservedly high marks to games like Gears. Many of them weren't even five years old when Gamefan was out. They don't know what makes a great game. They don't have that experience. There have to be standards. Nintendo Power, Gamefan, Famitsu, The New York Times, Coca Cola, Play Magazine having almost the same staff as Gamefan means it is a more cohesive standard than many others where the old guard has moved on to be replaced by the up and comers. And if there was a bit of bs on my part it was in response to the op's original bs. 2037 before the PS3 has more good games.

All right, so be it. I'm going to go away for a bit. I may or may not make a real post responding to you afterwards.
your attempt at a rol thread has failed, don't do it again unless you want to write about the X360, and the X360 only.
