1. Did you enjoy your education (school - uni)?
2. What do you think of your countrys education system? (just put meh for 2 if you dont care/arent interested)

1. i  liked my 2nd primary school, i despised secondary school, awfull 5 years of shit, they didnt even teach me much, college was good (for my IT stuff) and Uni was ok, but i didnt like my course so i dropped out (living at halls was amazing fun though)
2. i think its alot better than it was but could still be better, we still have crappy "faith" schools here which i think are a scar on the system, we also need to improve teaching methods, at the moment its all about exams and schools meeting targets rather than geared towards teaching the children what they need to know and stuff

1 - I loved, and am loving, every minute of my education. My schools were well-equiped, my teachers were amazing, and I developed some great friendships.

2 - It has its ups and downs. I love the modernisation that schools are currently going through (all the new technology is great - perhaps excluding the active whiteboards).

However, I disapprove of religious schools, as well as private and public education (state only), and academies. I also take issue with the fact that the top 50% get encouraged and the bottom 25% get extra support, but the middle 25% gets left to blow in the wind.

hello from the middle 25% lol thats me, i did ok at exams so teachers didnt give a damn about my education, they only cared about the idiots and the gifted kids, i also have learning disabilites which my secondary school choose to ignore

My brother also suffers from learning "disabilities". However, my mother works in the education system, so she knew all the right buttons to press, and he is given tonnes of extra assistance, and a lot of his teachers are classed as the best in the school.

It should not be the case that the parent should need to get involved, though.

1: I greatly enjoyed school for the most part. The Dutch system has it clipped in three. From my 4th to my 12th was fine. Lots of playtime, no homework and apart from the standard schoolyard brawls it was nice.
From my 12th to my 18th, high school basically was fine. The second and third year sucked, I was teased alot untill I started beating people up. Rule through fear is still ruling. But the last three years where amazing. I ended up in the highest segment of education and the group really formed a tight club - nerds, popular people and everything in the middle could hang together.
My university years where awesome. I'm in my last couple of months now and despite the occassional stress I know I will miss it. Met a lot of amazing people here and have had some awesome opportunities.

2: Dutch schooling system is quite alright. You flow in the level of education that is in general the best fit for a child. So unlike the American system a 120 IQ will not be attending the same classes as a 100 IQ. University is only accessable to those who have attended the highest forms of education and you can't buy your way in, thank god.

Our college is getting rid of 48 majors and 4 complete departments due to budget cuts. Just thought I'd share.

I hated school until I got to college. Then I enjoyed college a bit too much.

I don't have any desire to go back to college at the current moment because their budget cuts have been tremendous and the quality of education has fallen sharply since I was in college.

US Education budget cuts?

That doesn't sound too wise.
