Forums - Gaming - How Killzone 2 pwns Crysis and why I'm done with PC Gaming

Some of us know Crysis is superior. I personally think that KZ2 is more fun but superior, technically, it's Crysis > KZ2. Of course that's not shocking, it's also PC vs PS3. Obviously, PC wins that too.

I don't think any of the Crysis graphic supporters are arguing that the gameplay is superior (unless its Shio), but simply trying to slap some sense into nonsensical fanboys.

That fact that people even still compare KZ2 with Crysis, after KZ2's release, is a monumental statement.

If the PS3 had the kind of GPU horsepower some of the machines people have Crysis at decent framerates on... KZ2 would be unquestionably the best looking shooter ever made.

Can anyone explain to me what AA does?

@ CGI

Oh, I am not disagreeing with you, I just know that threads that are titled "X pwns X because of X, mwaahahaha" never end well. I have seen these end, nothing short of bloodshed, even when the opinions are educated and intelligently written.

Regardless if said.....game/console/handheld/fluffy bunny, may, per the individuals opinion be....... more fun/more games/good on hands/softer fur, it is always going to upset the "ELITE Fans" of said item.

I bring up members like Shio and SSJ12, because they are intelligent stalwart PC defenders and fans, who eat faces. I got a nice face, so I plan on keeping it intact......:)

For a more in depth discussion if you would like:

And if you are slightly more interested you may want to read up on AF as well.

Yeah I just googled its wiki. I guess its just an easier way of making things look nice and crisp?

Well not really, infact AA is actually blurring the image slightly.  It is actaully attempting to give you the illusion of smoother images instead of crisp images.

Hmm, I see. So the devs are too lazy to make everything not jaggy, so instead blur the image to smooth it out?

Triangle rasterization algorithms draw dots.  Dots make jaggies, if the dots are big enough to be seen by the naked eye (like on a big screen TV).  Jaggies make stuff seem less real.

AA fix jaggies.  AA good.

Oh, so jaggies are something that cannot be avoided? Just fixed via AA?(do the jaggies drink too much? :P)
