Forums - Gaming - Shovelware? An experiment into Hannah Montana games.

I have no opinion on your review.

I simply look at it like this: If someone has every star wars movie, comic, collectible figure, and the like, would you expect a fair and unbiased review of a Star Wars movie from them?

Obviously that's a much more extreme example, but the point should be fairly simple. If you're going to be unbiased then say you're unbiased. Listing a bunch of merchandise and pointing out that you're a big fan of it all isn't really helping you.

Well.... Games like Hannah Montana have gotten a bad rap for being cheap cashins.... now onforunantly games like Music Jam iventhough it might be good... it will never get the credit it deserves. I think that this trend was going on since the begining of video games.... games like back to the future, which were built to be a games that has nothing to do with the subject but had the brand slapped across their forehead. Ofcourse there will be games that will break the mold once a blue moon (Goldeneye) but still.... most of those games are creatred to be cashins and that will never change.

I know i might be stating the obveous here and im sorry :(

Back to the Future never deserved any credit though, that game was pure and utter crap no matter how you look at it.

well absolutelly.... but it was a cheap cashin.... Not to say that it would have been beter if it was not named back to the future.... But that makes no difference now

point taken.  everyone has their bias but i did my best to remain as open minded and unbiased as possible when playing these games.

But then who is the ideal Hannah Montana game reviewer? Someone with no knowledge of the show? I think having a background in "girl centric" material gives kitler's review more credibility as he was able to point out that the dialogue in one of the games didn't fit the characters at all.

Signature goes here!

@kitler53 - Well done!  Good to your word.

I'm just not sure 2 games is enough of a sample to prove anything, especially licensed games which are always sub-par due to various reasons.  So go review another 10 or so of various types and get back to us.

Just let him play the music game.

Nice job Kitler... perhaps you can score them, then ask if they can be on the front page? You know it'll get traffic to the site ;).

I don't believe there is an "ideal reviewer" of anything.  Everyone has preferences of one thing or another.

I have only played a couple of girl games. I felt dumb because I sucked at both of them. One was Cooking Mama (which I eventually liked) and the other was some puppy game on the DS which I thought was incredibley hard and confusing. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. Neither of those were pooly or cheaply made though, so I agree that girl games can be just fine.
