To get families in the game, Xbox 360 is hosting the “Best March Break Ever” tour at retail malls and other popular spots during the upcoming March break holiday period.

Xbox brand ambassadors will guide families through two interactive zones, where parents and kids can play games including Rock Band 2, Scene It! Box Office Smash, You’re In The Movies and Lips.

“Gaming in the past has been very focused on the younger family audience... so this is really trying to draw in mom, dad, sister, brother, together,” said Rob Alexiou, creative director at Launch, the agency behind the event.

For visiting each zone, families will receive a $25 coupon towards a purchase of the Microsoft game console at EB Games. Participants can also enter for a chance to win an Xbox party for 30 of their family and friends, complete with an Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, games, catering and a professional cleanup crew.

The experience includes tutorials on Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment systems, like Xbox Live, Xbox 360 Family Settings and on options that extend beyond gaming, such as viewing videos and photo storing.

Families will also learn how they can game together in positive ways, said Lindsay Ternoway, account executive at Launch.

Xbox is promoting the event through radio remotes and e-mail blasts.

The event kicked off yesterday in Montreal, with stops in Toronto, Calgary and Richmond, B.C.
