@ Darth no probs.

@ BHR-3

For PC I can understand where your coming from. But for console owners, there isnt really anyhting close to GTR 2 or the recent GTR Evolution for realism. GT and Forza are kinda semi realism next to the 2 afformentioned games.

But dont worry there is other NFS titles being worked on for the arcade lovers out there to. This is a seperate project.

 Don`t forget about Race Pro.

Simbin delivered with Race Pro even if the graphics were not at the same quality of NFS Shift.

Now I am curious if playing NFS Shift will be better and more fun then playing Race Pro. If NFS has both the graphics AND gameplay, then good job EA (I already congratulated Simbin).

Ah yes. Forgot about Race Pro for a bit. (to much Halo Wars :)) From what I briefly played of Race Pro it's very close to GTR games, havent had a lengthy play though. Race Pro would have scored higher in PC magazines and the like. Alot of reviewers marked it unfairly due to it being inaccessable to the console audience. But then thats what a real simulator game is. For the sim fans. It should have been reviewed as that. GTR 2 would have had similar reviews if it was the exact same game but a console only game as well. Shame really.

Too bad Race Pro was terrible, Simbins games are and always will be second rate to other racing simulators like Live for Speed.

Ah that must be why Simbin win all the awards every year. Their website is full of the awards they win for lies then I guess.

Live for Speed:

Justin Kranzl of APC magazine called the S1 release "the best PC racing simulator ever."

Pelit magazine's 2004 review of LFS' S1 release by Mika Äärilä scored 92/100 and said "Saloon cars and meticulous simulation. Absolute cream of the crop."

Bytesector.com's 2005 review of S2 release said "Nothing short of going to a track actually compares to the experience. Live for Speed is, by far, the most intense and demanding game I've ever played."

COMPUTEAM Race Authority states that Live for Speed is "the world's most advanced commercially available motor racing simulator."

PC Gameworld's 2003 review of Live for Speed S1 by Walter Hurdle scored 89% and said "A very strong simulation that offers fun and a high level of realism."

In 2005, AutoSimSport magazine gave LFS their "Best simulation" award and Blackhole Motorsports website readers voted to give LFS the following awards:

* BHM "Game of the year" award
* BHM "Best multiplayer" award
* BHM "Best physics" award

Not to mention all the awards on they advertise on their own site, and no reviews below 84%.

Race Pro:

0 awards, and a 72% average on metacritic with one review going as low as 45.

I think Live for Speed wins.

thank you selnor for showing me something that MIGHT bring my old favorite racing franchise back

Same here. The last good NFS was Underound. The last great NFS was Hot Pursuit 2. C'mon Shift, bring the franchise back.

Ian Bell is one of my personal heroes.

The guy wrote Elite, with David Braben, while in college.

If you don't know what Elite was, I have to give you the hand -- you shouldn't speak/type at all, and you are exiled from Gamer-Land (which I am King of, of course) until you get to at least "Deadly" status.  Anyone below that is, at best, a peon in Gamer-Land, unfit to speak in the presense of good pilots and stuff.

Oh boy. Firstly you use Race Pro as the arguement for Simbin Development. LOL. second you string off some awards and reviews which mean bugger all in the world of videogame racing.

GTR series by Simbin

Gaming Nexus - 91/100 - EDITORS CHOICE !
"...it is the most realistic, highly polished, PC-based racing simulator available today [...] GTR Evolution is a must-have for anyone that has a yearning to race"

EuroGamer - 8/10
"The reason this game and its predecessors perch atop their genre is they make every sweet passing move, crisply negotiated corner and shaved second feel like a podium finish [...] This is racing pure and simple. When a sim dev gets the science right, the poetry usually follows"

1up.com - 91/100
"When you dive deep into a corner, hearing everything you should hear, seeing everything you should see, and feeling everything you should feel, you will be in sim nirvana [...] GTR Evolution -- and Nordschleife in particular -- is where every good driver should be"

Speedmaniacs.com
"Perhaps the last big remaining, true racing simulation [...] A must have for every sim-enthusiast [...] Simbin developes racing simulations of the purest shape"

Cheat Code Central - 8/10
"In the proper hands, the game can be a breeding ground for racing bliss. GTR Represents racing simulation realism at its absolute best, even if that means it sacrifices accessibility and broader appeal for general gamers"

And thats from the latest PC game. This studio wins the same MAJOR awards every year.

Great news!!! This will be the first NFS game I'll be looking forward to in a while. I really hope this Game = Pure win and outsells all the latest crappy NFS games we have been getting lately. If proven to be a good game it will get a guaranteed Day 1 purchase for me :D

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

^ and Race Pro is an amzing simulation racing game. It's because of pathetic console reviewers that dont understand the game was designed for the absolute purest. If it was a PC game it would have scored very well. Heres some genuine comments about Race Pro.

Race Pro:

Games Magazine
“There are many competitive games in this category BUT Race Pro beats them all!!”

US Team Xbox
“there’s a smoothness that Race Pro possesses that doesn’t always exist when developers tackle millions of polygons moving at breakneck frame speeds.”

Gameplanet New Zealand
“There may be a number of racing titles vying for your attention at the moment, but none will offer the same level of realism and challenge that RACE Pro boasts.”

IGN Australia
“Race Pro provides unrivalled realism and deep immersion into the racing world through ultra realistic car models and official FIA championships and tracks”

Benelux Games Guide
“One of the best race games on the 360, period”

Benelux Veronica
“Finally a game where you don’t have to crash to win”

To bad that everyone will buy GT5 and Froz 3 thinking they are the best simulation games for consoles.
Sigh.

1. I used their most recent game which happens to be Race Pro, not my fault if it sucks. You've been preaching it like its gods gift to racing sims.

2. I didn't realize you were an expert on "videogame racing awards" LOL

3. Good for them? So do the Live for Speed developers, did you miss the part where Live for Speed hasn't recieved a review under 84%?

Guess what, by any and all accounts GT5 and Forza are both better than Race Pro, I hate to break it to you but any game that gets a 45% review score is NOT a good game.

These are all from Live for Speeds site;

"This home-built simulation is already in a league of its own, and it's only going to get better... The finest production-car racing simulator on the market today."

"Intimidatingly hardcore but enormously impressive"

And I could go on.
