Shining Force 3 was arguably one of the best games that came out on the saturn, and in my opinion of all time.  However, we only got the first scenario ported over before the Saturn went down the crapper. 

So, with the original 2 shining force games ending up on the wii virtual console and on the xbox 360 and ps3 via the sonic ultimate genesis collection, do you think there is a chance that sega might take pity on us and eventually port the system over?

I really doubt it. It probably wouldn't be profitable enough to be worth their time.

There is a better chance that fans will translate it themselves and release the patch for computer ROMs like they did with Mother 3 and numerous other RPGs.

 What he said. The Shining series name has been getting thrown around a lot by Sega in hopes of getting some use out of the brand, but I doubt they will put the effort in to translate the game. The fact that no fans have translated it yet means it likely never will happen. Unfortunately the game will stay out of reach for anyone who can't read Japanese.

I don't know, with digital distribution cutting out the cost of actual hard production, it could be possible. The game is already made, it's just the matter of translating it, which wouldn't cost very much at all. I'll remain hopeful, but I'm not expecting anything...

Theres Saturn translation patches that are almost done to my knowledge, check the googles for more info.

So apparently I am wrong. There is a group out there who has released a fan translation of scenarios 2 & 3. I think it also covers the Premium Disc but I don't really know what that has exactly. I would give a link but I am unclear as to the site rules for that. Just look around fo a central place that focuses on shiningforce.
