Honestly, I don't read american reviews, they're way too "nice" with games, french reviews are better imo, they don't enter the hype train and all the stuff. And so, on french sites, the game received pretty poor reviews, that's all I'm sayin...

You have made want to play Halo Wars

Whats funny is im trading in FAILzone 2 for Halo Wars,cause at least that dosent have a horrible lag,So i guess MS did a good job ordering the game then.

Probably because it made sense on multiple levels. 

The closing of one of the best RTS studios in the business on their PC side of the operation gave them a good reason to give them a 'final' project branded with a successful name.   It also allowed them to use the Halo name with a developer who has a good reputation so it wouldn't 'tarnish' the halo image even if the game was mediocre.

And lastly,  it gives a little more perspective to the Halo universe that Microsoft is trying to forge.  Instead of being in the eyes of the battlefield, you get to see the battlefield from a birds eye view.

It's okay.  We all know that since Kill Zone doesn't auto aim for you, you can't play it.

Ones meta critic rating has absolutely nothing to do with how influential a game is.

But lets get some stuff strait.

1: It has a metacritic score of 82. That is above average.

2: Everything I've read seems to show the controls work very well and that the fans are enjoying this game.

3: Its most likely going to be the best selling console rts of ALL TIME.

4: How can you call something a failure if it isn't even out yet? halo wars could very well start a trend that leads to rts games doing very well on consoles. The 360 is well placed for this since it has several decently selling rts games.

Furthermore look at wii sports. It has a metacritic of 76 and its one of the biggest reasons people buy the wii and its spawned a huge amount of imitations that have sold very well.

My point being is that its too soon to call halo wars a failure. All the evidence we have is that critics think its an above average but not amazing game and loads of people are happy with it. It could very well popularise the rts genre on consoles. Will it? Who knows, but its still going to be a moderately received game critically that will garner a very large amount of sales.
