I had the same thing happen and was pretty mad at the time, but you are just being childish.

Really? Is this true?
wow.. that's the second time someone called me childish......
are you serious..
So Sony justified this huge price tag by calling it an investment then suddenly my "investment" breaks only 2 weeks after warranty and im suppose to be upbeat about it and not be a litte angry that they expect me to pay almost 200 dollars to fix something that was their fault?
They should be a little kinder and repair it..
ya know?
service with a smile.
Should have extended the warranty...

Ok, maybe you aren't childish, just very naive.
Well, you're being childish by blaming the problem on Sony, when you should know Sony didn't plan on your PS3 breaking nor want it to break, there was nothing they could do.
Your being naive by expecting them to replace it for free. It is out of warranty, and they are not a charity.
That's life my friend.
You are not wrong in being angry with them. But they are not wrong either.
Companies usually don't repair products for free afther the warranty is over.
It sucks, but that's the way it is.
Ouch. They repaired mine for free despite being a month out of warranty. Though I think they extended the warranty a bit for launch users.
And I had to whine a bit on the phone to get them to do it, lol.
Right so im childish for blaming Sony even though im sure the expected life of the Ps3 is a hell of a lot longer then 1 year.. and this is the second time with the same problem..
MS didn't plan on the 360 breaking nor wanted it too so does that mean that people who got RROD are wrong to blame them?
I guess I am naïve for expecting Sony to correct their mistake.
You figure a company that's in the state that sony is in would want to keep their customers happy for repeat business..
