Try returning anything to any company with an expired warranty and see what they say....

Your profile says you are in the UK, if that is the case there is a sneaky way you can get it fixed for £5. Nothing illegal though, just very smart.

I have a question, if ur PS3 (60 gb) were to have a similar problem and u pay the fee, would they just fix ur PS3 or give u another one? It would suck if u downgrade from a 60gb to a 40/80gb.

How is it stupid and childish to expect a company that sold you a faulty piece of hardware for 500 dollars to repair it rather then ask for more money?

I heard Nintendo is usally quite nice regarding repairs. Whether it's true or not I don't know.

They didn't sell you a faulty piece of hardware. Electronics will burn out/mess up eventually, it was fine when they sold it to you.

I had to send my ps3 in once because my tard roommate put in a disc while the system was turned off with another disc already inside and got both stuck. I lost the receipt but they waived the $150 fee. Just bad luck on your end that it messed up right after the warranty expired.

I dont know how old you are but £500 on a console, £2,000 on a TV or £25,000 on a car doesn't change the agreed warranty at the time of purchase.

How is it there fault? Have they been playing your console? Didnt think so. It outlasted the MFG warranty. With such a small failure rate on there consoles, its pretty hard to say it is there fault.

obviously the system had something wrong with it to cause it to mess up so soon.
